Senior Expert Science & Technology (m/f/d) Downstream Prozess Development, TR&D GDD/ DSP Development, Schaftenau, Austria

3! This is the number of development locations collaborating on innovation in mammalian cell culture downstream processing. We are paving the way to new connected processing horizons and apply statistical tools in our development. Feel inspired and have an impact on the future of bioprocessing!


Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop downstream processes for biopharmaceutical drug substances using advanced technologies.
• Lead the DSP subteam for the projects in your area of responsibility in a matrix organization (organize and lead meetings, prepare minutes, define timelines and tasks) and provide scientific and/or statistical guidance for development and optimization of connected processes.
• Perform the successful technology transfer of our processes to production sites according to global and local procedures.
• Prepare and review technical documents including study protocols and reports, risk assessments and provide input for master documents.
• Actively foster knowledge exchange. Train and coach scientists, technicians, temporary employees and employees under training/education.
Align project needs and collaborate with customers (e.g. Drug Substance Lead, Regulatory CMC, Quality Assurance, Production, Supply Chain)

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
Essential:
• Master’s degree in biotechnology, biochemical engineering, biology, chemistry, biochemistry or similar with at least 4 years strong relevant industry experience or PhD in relevant field and at least 1-2 years relevant industry experience
• Fluency in English
• Experience in development of chromatography steps, normal flow and tangential flow filtration steps; proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
• A personality with a can-do mind-set and the ability to adopt to change with strong communication and presentation skills


Desirable requirements:
• Experience with statistical methods including design of experiments
• Experience with development of purification processes derived from mammalian cell culture including viral clearance aspects and connected processing

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position, the minimum salary is € 52.204 /year (on a full-time basis). We also offer a potential market oriented excess payment in line with your experience and qualifications.
