The Biological Engineering and Gene Therapy group at NIBR is working to turn the latest in leading edge gene therapy and nucleic acid science into treatments. If you are passionate about analytics and want to apply your skills to the gene editing / nucleic acid fields, we would like to hear from you. We are seeking a creative and skilled analytical scientist to help advance nucleic acid and gene editing therapies such as siRNA and AAV, work with a variety of gene editing and nucleic acid technologies (AAV, mRNA, siRNA, CRISPR).

Your responsibilities:
• Provide characterization and quantitative analytics expertise to support projects from exploratory characterization through NHP studies.
• Develop and execute LC-MS and other assays to support therapeutic oligonucleotide platforms.
• Evaluate and apply a variety of analytical methods for biological, chemical and physical characterization of therapeutic oligonucleotides.
• Write experimental protocols, internal reports and present results at meetings.
• Study the bio-distribution, PK, stability and tissue targeting of siRNA and oligo therapeutics.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• BA/BS and 8+ years of experience or MS and 5+ years of relevant experience in analytical chemistry, molecular biology or a related field in academia or industry.
• Significant experience with assay development/optimization particularly HPLC methods, LC-MS, and LC-MS/MS of peptides and intact proteins.
• Operational expertise with HPLC and LC-MS software and the analysis of intact (spectral deconvolution) and/or MS/MS sequenced proteins/peptides or DNA.
• Solid skills in troubleshooting HPLC and LC-MS systems.
• Experience with common techniques for quantifying and characterizing proteins or DNA such as electrophoresis, spectroscopy, and various forms of ELISA.

• Familiarity with cell-based assays and solid phase extraction is a plus.
