Four areas of Global Health Access – Access Solutions CoE, Community Health Models, Strategic Account Management and External Affairs & Strategic Partnerships enabling us to make a difference in people's lives and so far we have reached a total of 16 million people through various access programs. You will play an instrumental role in helping us expand access to our products by working on various innovative business models, helping us reduce the barriers and thus ensure smooth access of essential and innovative medicines for the underserved and marginalized populations across the world.
Job Purpose

Lead the further integration of the Novartis Access Principles (health system strengthening, R&D, affordability), by partnering with teams across Novartis to improve access and the standard of care for underserved populations. Serve as a technical resource and strategic advisor to local teams in key focus areas within Access Principles, with a particular emphasis on health system strengthening. Develop and drive enterprise-wide engagement with COE resources, and catalyse learnings and engagement across teams to accelerate action and drive patient reach.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Support Global Health teams and Novartis Pharma and Oncology by developing high-impact strategies for Access Principle integration and evolution. Establish/evolve and manage technical assistance hubs in key areas such as health systems strengthening; developing innovative health service delivery models/business models for underserved populations; monitoring and evaluation and impact measurement; and catalyzing innovative partnership models to reach underserved populations.
• Deliver advisory services to country organizations and regional/global teams in prioritized focus areas, with a primary focus on health systems strengthening, serving as a strategic counselor through scoping/business case development to implementation as needed. (Note: global geographic scope).
• Develop strategies to establish communities of practice, effectively connecting teams facing similar access challenges and catalyzing regional or cross-country solution development where appropriate.
• Proactively develop and/or identify potential solutions, external partners, internal expertise and processes that could support teams in addressing access barriers for underserved populations, particularly those where common barriers emerge.
• Design and rollout user-friendly resources and capability building strategies to support learning in prioritized focus areas, including an ongoing suite of user-friendly case studies. Deliver compelling content at existing forums to drive capability building and awareness of COE offerings.
• In partnership with the COE team, develop awareness & education strategy for Access Principles, COE offerings and effectively collaborate to manage COE resource center, learning events and communication channels.
• Support engagement with key external stakeholders in Global Health including in academia, donors, NGOs, incubators, and conveners.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Advanced Degree in business, economics, public health, engineering, medicine or relevant experience in Global Health innovation and/or global health entrepreneurship

• 7+ years working in the pharmaceutical industry or global health
• Experience working in or closely with local teams in LMIC/developing country settings
• Preference for experience designing and implementing health system strengthening programs, and/or access or policy efforts (e.g. innovative access models, policy/advocacy initiatives, patient support program, etc.)
• Strong stakeholder management skills, ability to form trusted relationships easily and bring diverse experiences and backgrounds together effectively
• Flexible and learning mind-set, able to work in multiple technical and therapeutic areas in parallel. Experience in platform management and/or developing and implementing innovative learning networks a plus
