QC Lead (f/m/d), Quality Unit DS Kundl, Kundl, Austria

70! You can count on more than 70 team members to ensure patients receive their medication on time and with the right quality. DS Kundl site manufactures proteins and nucleic acids based active ingredients as well as plasmids for Novartis and many external customers. Leading this team will give you, your team, and the site a unique chance to grow with impact on patients and societies.

Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include:
• Managing a QC organization of more than 70 employees (6 direct reports)
• Ensuring that requirements of the internal and external key customers are met by the QC laboratories with regard to quality, timely result delivery and reliability
• Development of QC structure to cope with future needs in cost efficient way
• Resource and strategic planning for the respective laboratories (staff allocation, organizational set-up)
• Budget responsibility and cost control
• Drive harmonized workflows and methods for in-process control and release testing using innovative techniques and IT support
• Active participation in internal councils, health authority inspections and audits
• Ensure inspection readiness of QC organization (cGMP compliance)
• Lead the cooperation with internal and external partners for the production of biotechnological proteins, plasmids and nucleic acids
• Support development of local and global projects/initiatives and drive local implementation

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
Essential:
• Life sciences degree (Chemistry, Pharmacy)
• English (min. C1), German (min. B2)
• 4+ years of experience in quality control or a similar GMP environment
• Leadership experience

Desirable requirements:
• Strong background in phys-chem analytics pf proteins and nucleic acids.
• Very experienced in leading bigger QC teams and strategic mindset
• Deep knowledge in GMP regulations

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 63.388,92/year (on a full time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
