The position of TPD portfolio manager will join a global leadership team to run a large research initiative seeking to develop drugs based on principles of targeted protein degradation. This role will enhance efforts on a diverse array of research & research-related activities including analysis of portfolio science and resourcing. Communication skills will reinforce a culture of discovery that involves formal and informal meetings that seek to complement and enable a community of purpose among a group of highly collaborative drug hunters. The TPD initiative applies an integrated & multidisciplinary approach to identify small molecules that drive the formation of non-native ternary complexes between E3 ligases and therapeutic targets leading to degradation at the proteasome. Novartis has an extensive portfolio of previously undrugged targets across multiple disease areas that are advancing through all stages of the pipeline from exploratory to clinical trials. This position will be a vital link in sharing lessons learned across our portfolio to promote awareness and project efficiency. In addition, you will help organize the TPD knowledge center, a Novartis website serves as an internal point of access for the TPD community. This exciting position will leverage all your scientific skills and put them into the context of a highly dynamic and competitive landscape of a rapidly emerging new area of medicine development.

Major Accountabilities:
Communication & Collaboration for the initiative:
• TPD core meetings: scheduling and planning
• TPD Workshop Q2 ’22: Planning
• Budget impact & accountability
• Develop, along with team, a TPD newsletter

Objectives: Innovation, Pipeline & Projects
• Update existing TPD Initiative knowledge center
• Knowledge updates and data mining within this highly dynamic field.
• Project tracking & resource balancing

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience:
• Science degree: Masters degree or higher
• 3-5 years post-graduate research
• Other experiences will likely include efforts among some other following: Drug discovery, experience with Information technology and knowledge mining, media .
• Familiarity with specific disease area advantageous preferably with experience in drug discovery activities
• Excellent and information management skills

• Fluent English (oral and written), other languages are an additional asset
• Strong written communication

• Relevant professional experience in Pharma or biotech industry and in drug development project management
• Demonstrated experience in managing and driving cross-functional teams
• Experience in matrix research environment with demonstrated ability to influence without authority
• Team player and brings a collaborative, adaptable approach
