Technical Transfer Lead Devices (f/m/d), Global Drug Development, Schaftenau, Tyrol, Austria

74! The number of medical device and drug-device combination product projects in Novartis. Without a safe, user friendly, high-quality drug delivery system our patients cannot administer their medicine. The global Technical Transfer team needs you to support the launch of one of the most diverse and innovative portfolios in the pharma industry. By managing successfully the transfer of drug-device combination products from development phase into commercial operations, you allow our organization to excel in the launch of smartly developed and competitive products!


Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide technical manufacturing expertise during development stages of medical device and combination product projects for parenteral administration
• Translate design output requirements of selected drug-device combination products (for example, prefilled syringes in (smart) Autoinjectors or Needle Safety devices) into production site specific process and control parameters for combination product assembly and final packaging
• Manage technical and design transfer of drug-device combination products to selected production sites within the Novartis network
• Coordinate final assembly and packaging activities of drug-device combination products to ensure supply of Clinical PhIII / Human Factors Evaluation (HFE) / Design Verification and Shipping Verification samples
• Support Site Engineering teams in defining and qualifying combination product assembly & packaging equipment
• Act as expert on assembly and packaging processes of drug-device combination products during root cause investigations
• Provide expertise on drug-device regulations

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
Essential:

• University Degree in engineering, pharmaceutical technology or similar discipline
• Successfully demonstrated at least 3 years of related experience with medical devices/combination products
• Thorough understanding of development processes, good knowledge of state-of-the-art technology/equipment, and knowledge of related basic regulations
• Project management skills, strong communication and presentation skills and scientific/technical writing
• Ability to operate in a matrix environment
• Fluent in English, German beneficial

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 52,204.04/year (on a full time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
We are open for part-time and job sharing models and support flexible and remote working where possible.
