Join the NIBR Postdoctoral program as a Discovery Fellow.

The NIBR Ophthalmology group is seeking a highly motivated, creative and collaborative molecular and cellular biologist to join our team in a hands-on role to better understand and exploit the molecular mechanisms of AMD targets for discovery, characterization and optimization of AMD therapeutics.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant scientific community and collaborate with other postdoctoral fellows mentored by a range of scientists across subject areas and platforms, including chemistry, structural biology, molecular biology, functional genomics, neurophysiology and translational medicine. Discovery Postdoctoral Fellows at NIBR have a unique opportunity to conduct innovative, interdisciplinary research and are expected to publish their results in leading journals. The Postdoctoral Fellow term is up to 4 years.

Minimum Requirements

What You'll Bring to the Role:

- PhD in Molecular or Cell Biology, Biochemistry or a related field (PhD students in the last year of their thesis work, are eligible to apply)

- Knowledge in immunology, inflammation, retinal diseases, or RNA biology would be a plus.

- Strong publication record

- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and organizational skills

- Candidates must be able to work independently as well as with interdisciplinary teams
