This role aims to:
1) Shape the overall Healthcare Systems (HCS) drug development framework based on learnings from specific regions/countries and
2) Implement selected clinical trials in key healthcare systems in a specific regions/country in order to ensure more efficient, lower cost development/trial execution and to accelerate patient access.

Your Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
• Refine HCS partnership framework to focus on trial (phase 2-4) co-design and co-execution with HCS partners in specific Region/Country (e.g. Region Europe, China, and Japan)
• Lead implementation of Region/HCS-tailored framework in top HCS in a specific Region/Country with functional partners across Pharma including Medical Affairs and Value Access and Commercial Development, Country/Regional partners, Global Drug Development (GDD) and Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research.
• Lead program and Country-specific HCS trial design and execution in partnership with Global Program Team, Global Development Operations (GDO), Country teams and cross-functional Global partners
• Support upskilling in the capabilities and competencies with functional, GDD and Country partners
• Support defining and tracking of efficiency metrics in partnership with GDO such as accelerated trial recruitment and reduced trial complexity via EMR-based data collection, and monitor impact of HCS development partnerships in Region/Country in partnership with Country governance
• Support evolution of internal processes, structures, and capabilities across GDD while maximizing synergies with other efforts designed to evolve our commercialization model via HCS partnership
• Ensure specific Region/Country HCS co-design and co-generation of integrated evidence beginning at the earliest stages of drug development is adopted in the mindset, culture, and capabilities in drug development

Minimum Requirements

What you'll bring to the role:
• Advanced degree or equivalent education/degree in life science/healthcare required. MBA or equivalent preferred
• ≥10 years of drug development experience.
• ≥5 years people and matrix management required. Global people management experience desirable.
• HCS experience in US, Region Europe, Japan or Canada
• Experience with utilization of data across continuum (RWD and Clinical Trial data)
• Ideally experience in executing trials in HCS
• Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams, driving program excellence, engaging functional partners, and partnering with senior leadership including Development Unit Head and Business Franchise Head.
• Previous work and leadership in international and multidisciplinary drug development teams

Desirable Experience:
• Knowledge of drug development strategy
• Planning and project management skills
• Advanced understanding of business processes
• Considerable organizational awareness, including significant experience working cross-functionally and in global teams.
• Strong written & verbal communication coupled with excellent problem-solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
