Associate Expert Science & Technology (f/m/d), Impurities and Non-Separation Methods Team, Process Analytical Sciences, Schaftenau, Austria

>200! This the current number of programs in clinical development at Novartis. Many of these projects, which include new molecular entities as well as additional indications and different formulations for marketed products, are for medicines that could significantly advance treatment standards for patients worldwide.

Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Design, plan, perform, interpret and report results of scientific experiments and analytical method development. These tasks are related to impurities and non-separation methods of biopharmaceutical products in a modern analytical lab with state-of-the-art equipment and high degree of automation
• Organization and setup of experiments, using relevant data management systems
• Integrate digitized processes in your daily work (e.g., automated sample preparation and analysis)
• Write protocols, reports and lab/instrument procedures based on templates under moderate supervision
• Interact and collaborate with other groups and sites according to project and method requirements
• Maintain and qualify analytical equipment and manage operational aspects in the laboratory
• Communicate, address and tackle problems (e.g., unexpected results from experiments) within own & broader area of responsibility and take part in root cause investigations
• Contribute to the transfer of know how or procedures to other departments, including troubleshooting and on-site training
• Be part of an open and motivated team with flat hierarchies, bring in your networking skills and collaborate across boundaries
• Bring in your ideas and improvement proposals, be creative, think bold and inspire others

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Apprenticeship in industry (or equivalent technical education) with 3 years’ experience in Industry or Bachelor Degree in Biotechnology, biochemical engineering, biology, chemistry, biochemistry or equivalent
• Excellent knowledge of, or practical experience with, laboratory tools for instrumental analytics especially HPLC analysis
• Fluency in German and English
• Curiosity about new digital approaches and innovative technologies e.g., lab automation
• Flexible, pragmatic and goal-orientated working style and scientific way of thinking

Desirable requirements:
• A personality with a can-do mind-set and the ability to adopt to change with strong communication across organizational interfaces
• Ability to work with a cross-functional team in a matrix environment
• Experience with laboratory data management software (e.g. LIMS)
• Experience with non-separation methods and/or impurity analyses e.g., protein content determination, ELISA, small scale protein purification
• Experiences with automated liquid handling systems e.g. Tecan or Hamilton

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 37.756,32/year (on a full-time basis). We also offer a potential market oriented excess payment in line with your experience and qualifications
