The Associate Director, Scientific Education and External Funding will lead the shaping of scientific educational needs assessments for select therapeutic areas for Novartis Pharma.

Your responsibilities will include:

•Funding Review Process – Execute Funding Review Processes for both grants, etc. Coordinate information flow from internal and external sources to facilitate the dissemination of information to internal (e.g. Grant Review Committee) and external customers (e.g. external funding requesters).
•Medical Expert – Serve as a medical expert identifying emerging medical trends and share with appropriate internal stakeholders. Partner with Medical Units to define educational priorities and objectives. Ensure grant submissions are scientifically rigorous for the intended audiences, including healthcare professionals, and aligned with the need’s assessment.
•Drive Innovation/Process Improvement – Lead to overall functioning of Funding Review process through leading and contributing to process improvement initiatives. Leverage digital capabilities to drive impact and efficiencies. Collaborate to establish and track impact metrics.
•Compliance/Reporting – Ensure adherence to, department Working Practice Documents (WPDs). Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all activities.

Minimum Requirements

•Bachelors or equivalent 4-Year University Degree required.
•Advanced degree in scientific discipline (PharmD, PhD) required
•5 years in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred.
•Strong pharmaceutical industry knowledge required
•Broad scientific and medical knowledge of all therapeutic areas to facilitate productive engagement with internal medical stakeholders
•Knowledge of healthcare industry and company guidelines and policies regulating sponsorships and medical education
•Strong knowledge of grant review systems and related technology
•Basic knowledge of finance and budgeting
•Ability to work under tight timelines, managing multiple projects
•Minimal travel expected
•Location is remote.
