Your responsibilities:
• Closely work with the members of corporate communication team to develop and implement effective media/external communication strategies to improve Novartis’ visibility and reputation. Measure the effectiveness of the communication and reputation to modify the strategies
• Identify and build influential relationships with key editors and journalists from national, wire, business, online, and trade media
• Constantly innovate communication strategies and tactics with out-of-box thinking to better impact on corporate reputation
• Develop and regularly update key messages and narratives based on Novartis’ mission, Vision, V&B, key strategies, and initiatives
• Act proactively to communicate positive stories about the company, system, culture, and employees to local, regional and national media
• Develop spokesperson by providing efficient media training and deliver corporate messages through the exposure of Novartis Global and Japan executives on major media
• Collaborate closely with Brand communication, social media communication, and internal communication team to maximize Novartis exposure externally and internally as a whole
• Develop and update communication tools such as company brochures, website, and PR magazine and other non-traditional communication tools that can convey the corporate vision, V&B, and messages accurately and allow us to conduct effective external PR
• Proactively anticipate potential issues and involve relevant internal stakeholders to develop messages and QAs to minimize negative impacts
• Manage the performance, quality and delivery of media agencies when involving them
• Explore new initiatives to contribute to “Build trust with society.”

• Strengthen Novartis reputation through external and media activities and position the company as a leading innovation and trustable company
• Establish strong relations with influential media and external stakeholders to gain trust in the company and contribute to the improvement of its visibility and favorability in support of Novartis’ corporate activities
• Protect Novartis reputation by proactively anticipate and prepare for potential issues at Novartis and minimize negative impacts
• Explore and develop various communications media and new initiatives to support Novartis’ corporate mission by collaborating with brand/internal communications

Minimum Requirements

Experience / Skills:
• Experience working in external communications and media relations.
• Experience in crisis management
• Demonstrated ability to influence high-level media
• Track record of successful and innovative media approach
• Self-starter

Nice to have experience :Pharmaceutical industry communications positions and a good understanding of pharma communication and regulations

Education:University level (bachelors) degree
Languages:Japanese: Excellent Japanese writing and oral communication skills
English: Fluent in writing and speaking
