Analytical Sciences and Imaging (ASI), a global platform group at NIBR, is looking for a highly motivated Proteomics Scientist to join our research team in Cambridge, MA to contribute to innovative therapeutic platform including gene therapy and development cutting edge technology such as spatial proteomics. The successful candidate should bring experience in developing innovative proteomic workflow and interpretation of disease biology. We are dedicated to unleashing the power of molecular profiling to build cutting-edge technology that will transform the lives of millions of patients.

Your key responsibilities
• Lead projects related to the development of new modalities across multiple disease areas using novel chemical biology applications and gene therapies with focus on disease target identification/validation, compound mode of actions as well as translational biomarkers.
• Execute proteomic experiments and data analysis in interdisciplinary drug discovery team. Utilize resulting data to move projects along the drug discovery process.
• Work in ASI matrix environment to translate scientific questions to studies that address project’s scientific inquiries.
• Proactively communicate with all partners and share knowledge and learning to guide drug discovery teams.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role
• MS degree 3+ years or equivalent BS degree with 5+ yrs experience or equivalent in biology, biochemistry, or chemical biology, with proven track record of working in multidisciplinary team.
• Expert knowledge of nanoLC-MS based quantitative proteomics to address life sciences or drug discovery questions utilizing TMT and DIA approaches for deep proteomics profiling, protein post-translational modifications, protein-protein interactions, and targeted protein quantitation.
• Experience with cell/tissue-based sample preparation and lab automation for mass spec analysis but also with cell culture, antibody-based methods as well as general knowledge biology and molecular pathways.
• Ability to translate biologist’s driven scientific questions into analytical strategies and techniques that generate project impact.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative, matrix environment and to build partnerships across project teams.

Desirable requirements
• Experience with sample preparation and analysis of limited tissue samples and ultrasensitive proteomics is a plus.
• Knowledge of biostatistics, experience with omics data, computer coding, and how to apply within the area of drug discovery
