Job Description

+75 is the number of countries that Lean Digital Core (LDC) program will be rolled out across all units in Novartis Group affiliates.

LDC will simplify the way we work and allow us to leverage data for digital innovation at scale. We will achieve this through a focus on high quality data at the core, supported by end-to-end enterprise processes and new technologies, including the transformation of our ERP backbone to S/4HANA and integrated digital solutions around it.

As a key player in our program, this role will be accountable for the design, build and deployment of SAP Mfg, SCM & Quality and integrated digital solutions in the area of Operations will be part of our “Product & Platform Delivery – Core” team in Technology Transformation Organization in Novartis.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Own and drive the solution architecture for SAP Mfg, SCM & Quality through addressing all business requirements and opportunities while following Novartis architectural standards, quality and information security principles.
• Collaborate closely with enterprise architecture groups, solution design Mfg, SCM & Quality Teams and suggest standardized and simplified integrated solutions
• Champion the standardization and simplification of the architecture, minimizing custom solutions only for cases where Novartis makes a difference in the market serving customers/patients
• Identify critical integration points and dependencies, propose solutions for key gaps, provide effort estimations while ensuring alignment with business and other teams
• Assure consistency and traceability of the architecture captured in the enterprise architecture repositories, functional specifications, agile ways of working and adapting to DevSecOps, regulatory/control requirements, and smooth transition of solutions to operations
• Elaborate the solution architecture for the solution based on architecture-significant requirements and company-wide architecture standards
• Develop alternative architecture approaches all adequately responding to a given problem and propose the most appropriate architecture alternative (in alignment with Enterprise Architect(s))
• Elaborate and describe the solution architecture holistically (i.e. considering all relevant viewpoints (e.g. functional Architecture, Data Architecture, Technical Architecture, Security Architecture, Performance Architecture, etc.)
• Leverage architecture standards, architecture patterns, reference architectures, and other referential means in order to elaborating the most adequate solution architecture meeting functional and non-functional requirements
• Validate solution architectures regarding their adequacy and adherence to architecture standards throughout the solution lifecycle
• Ensure solution architectures are captured appropriately in the enterprise tools/repository (e.g. ADONIS, ADOIT, ERWIN)
• Take accountability to ensure adherence with Security and Compliance policies and procedures within solution architecture domain scope

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in business/technical domains
• Ideally SAP certifications / trainings in specified module(s)/process/technology areas
• > 5 years of relevant professional IT experience in the related functional area
• Proven experience as SAP Mfg, SCM & Quality solution architect for end to end solutions in relation with SAP ECC / S4 HANA and eco-system applications/processes
• Experience and sound understanding of SAP Mfg, SCM & Quality technology and architecture
• Experience with SAP cloud concepts and technology (e.g. SAC, BTP and related services)
• Strong knowledge in the area of Mfg, SCM & Quality and data integration scenarios
• Proven track record of broad industry experience and excellent understanding of complex enterprise IT landscapes and relationships / integrations
• Experience and knowledge in Data & Master Data Management
• Ideally experience in machine learning and AI scenarios
• Excellence knowledge in developing enterprise architecture (TOGAF) using enterprise architecture methods and tools (e.g. ADONIS/ADOIT/ERWIN).
• Experience in Agile project delivery and general management in an international environment
