The VP, Head, Field Medical Engagement will lead the US Pharma Field Medical Organization supporting the product portfolio and execute the HCP engagement strategy for all US Pharma therapeutic areas including emerging pipeline assets.

Your responsibilities will include:

•HCP Engagement Strategy and Execution – Partner with Disease Strategy Leadership and New Products teams to develop and execute HCP engagement strategy with an emphasis on pre-launch excellence, supporting medical education needs, clinical trial support, and other partnership opportunities. Define ME/Stakeholder mapping, engagement strategy, and impact goals for the Disease Areas portfolio of brands in collaboration with Disease Area teams. Ensure collection of customer insights through established systems to inform future strategies.
•Resource Allocation/Management – Develop and define a data driven resource management model in partnership with Medical Excellence team to ensure optimal field medical sup-port for pipeline assets as well as in-line products. Continually monitor impact metrics and drive resource allocation decisions in partnership with Medical Leadership team. Collaborate with Chief Customer Engagement Officer and organization to ensure optimum customer experience.
•Operational Excellence/Innovation – Drive operational excellence including rapid redeployment and engagement models, customer and territory mapping. Leverage data and technology to drive targeted, customized engagement across the Field Medical organization focusing on impact. Collaborate with Medical Excellence to enrich the role of the MSL beyond traditional practices.
•Compliance/Risk Management - Provide guidance and counsel to associates and others, as necessary, to ensure that all activities are legally compliant and conducted according to Novartis policies, procedures, and standards.
•Culture/Team Leadership – Create and maintain an outstanding culture in line with Novartis cultural aspiration (Inspired, Curious, Unbossed). Support curiosity and innovation by ensuring “psychological safety”. Create a high performing team culture in the leadership team and throughout the organization. Minimum Requirements

•Bachelors or equivalent 4-Year University Degree required.
•Doctorate level degree (MD, PharmD, DO, or PhD in Health Sciences or related field) preferred.
•12 years’ experience in progressively senior roles in the healthcare industry (Pharma, Biotech, Digital Healthcare, Consulting)
•8 years People Management/team leadership experience required.
•5 years’ Field Medical, Sales, or other Customer Engagement Organization leadership experience preferred
•Understanding of metrics used to measure impact of field medical organization
•Understanding of Field Medical operations
•Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines governing HCP interactions and engagement
•Demonstrated track record of inspirational leadership, creating a compelling vision and gaining followership.
•Demonstrated track record of successfully leading change in large matrixed organizations.
