The Associate Director, Strategy & Communications, US Patient Assistance Program will be responsible for helping to implement the NPAF strategy and assist in the development and execution of Novartis’ ongoing patient assistance program for the entire Novartis portfolio. The position will have accountability for optimizing the existing programs through life-cycle management and new launches.

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Make significant contributions to the development of solutions that improve the patient experience and maximize resources, drive program standards, communicate effectively, and develop and convey insights to inform decisions and identify trends
o Collaborate with others on the team to establish operational metrics, KPIs and useful statistics, and oversee the production of operations dashboard that provides insight into performance
o Drive decision making via a focused, hypothesis-driven approach and shape the findings into leadership presentations highlighting key actions
• Maintain & continuously improve patient experience, while minimizing complexity throughout the program
o Monitor and develop organizational best practices and use them effectively to ensure excellence across programs, vendors, and services
• Drive excellence with new product/indication launches and ensure delivery of an outstanding customer and patient experience, while maintaining appropriate separation from commercial activities
o Support lifecycle management to include launch products, and products that are reaching LOE
o Drive process improvement and creative solutions in the design and execution of our patient assistance programs
• Help define and oversee the implementation of a robust budgeting & forecasting process for the PAP program (brand usage & operational administrative expenses)
o Track expenses in Master Budget Tracker and run quarterly management review
o Review, seek, approval process and track PMO/IT change requests
o Task Order & Statement of Work preparations
• Work closely with legal, finance, and procurement, and ensure tax preparation is successfully completed
• Compile data needed for PAP annual reporting (US Annual Report & Novartis in Society)
• Manage NPAF quarterly sub-certification MMF government compliance documentation for PAP product reporting
• Serve as a thought leader in the management of strategic partnerships, while driving forward-thinking design and execution of our patient assistance programs
• Collaborate with commercial patient support teams to ensure optimal patient experience by addressing therapeutic nuances in a thoughtful, patient-centric way. Communicate as appropriate with Novartis Leadership
• Have a strong understanding of Compliance around Patient Assistance Programs to include HIPAA, Anti-kickback, and OIG opinions

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s Degree is required; advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years pharmaceutical experience required
• Strong planning, organization, communication, project management and problem-solving skills
• Budget monitoring experience preferred
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally within a matrix environment
• Vendor Management experience preferred
• Payer/Market Access and/or Patient Assistance/Support experience preferred
• Ability to develop and execute strategies and correlating tactics
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize information to develop recommendations, and ability to persuade / influence organization pursuit of recommended path
