The PK Sciences group at Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research (NIBR)- Cambridge is seeking a highly qualified multi-disciplinary team-oriented Principal Scientist with emphasis in the area of in vitro drug transport and disposition with experience in small and large molecules.

In the role of Principal Scientist, In Vitro ADME your main responsibilities will include developing novel in vitro assays to investigate disposition of drug candidates for the optimization and characterization of ADME properties across modalities.

Your main accountabilities will not be limited to:

• Establish novel in vitro assays for evaluating absorption/permeability/transport across various cell/tissues for new chemical entities (small and large molecules), biologics.
• Provide expertise on projects teams as a subject matter expert and represent ADME as a subteam member.
• Write reports and document results for project teams as well as regulatory submissions. Present results at departmental forums as well as to project teams. Publish findings in scientific journals.
• Lead exploratory activities targeted towards developing novel in vitro systems and participate in cross functional working groups.

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to the role:

Qualifications/Requirements:
• PhD in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Bioengineering or equivalent, with a 2+ years of post-doctoral experience in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of general laboratory techniques used in the In Vitro ADME field such as, HPLC-MS, cell culture, ELISA, PCR.
• Hands on experience in evaluating in vitro drug transport.
• Expertise in 2D and 3D-cell culture models.
• Proven track record of scientific publications and presentations.
• Good organizational and communication skills and ability to multitask.
• Team player, flexible, and adaptive to changes.
