Job Description

The Process Safety Manager is responsible for the management and control of major accident hazards and risk to the site. They are responsible for the site’s compliance with legislative requirements and Novartis standards in this area.

They are a key point of contact with the regulatory authorities with respect to Major Accident Hazards of the site and are responsible for the safe design of changes on the site including planned Engineering change, Projects and Product Launches.

Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Exhibit the Novartis Shared values and Behaviours
• Ensure compliance of the site with relevant national legislation and Novartis standards
• Maintain appropriate Major Accident risk management for the site as a Top Tier COMAH (Control Of Major Accident Hazards) site
• Coordination of Process Safety Risk Assessments for the site including ZHANT, HAZOP, LOPA etc.
• Key point of contact with the Health and Safety Authority for the site including the annual HSA
• Key contributor to change control for the site in Engineering changes, Project design and Product Launch

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Experience in Chemical/Process Engineering or Chemistry is a requirement.
• Degree in Engineering or Chemistry
• Ability to take, interpret or translate legislative and corporate requirements into effective site solutions
• Strong analytical skills required, exposure to site risk assessment tools advantageous
• Proven ability to manage both on site and external key stakeholders
