As a Data Infrastructure Director, you will be responsible for ownership of the Data Hub data product for Novartis’s Innovative Medicine (IM), consisting of Pharma and Oncology Business Units (BUs). The key focus will be on Commercial and Medical Affairs data. While the responsibility spans both BUs, the role will formally be part of Oncology BU, reporting to Customer EDO (Enterprise Data Owner), who will report into Oncology with a dotted line to Pharma.

Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Build functional expertise and business capabilities across commercial/ medical teams
• Directly lead cross-functional and third-party support teams as required, sometimes jointly with Pharma Business Unit
• Manage strategic planning, resource allocation, data analysis and decision support as required
• Provide with creative solutions to complex issues, ideally in manners that can enhance how we work at Novartis
• Communicate business critical information at senior levels and reconcile multiple partner views
• Responsible for OBU requirements specifications for data and infrastructure initiatives
• Ensure high-quality service delivery that meets customers’ needs

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to the role:
• Undergraduate degree in business, engineering, computer science or related subject area
• Minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical medical affairs experience (commercial experience is acceptable but medical experience is preferred). Plus, 5 years of data modeling, data engineering, and/or data analytics experience
• Computer programming experience and/or experience with ETL enablers such as SQL, SAS, Alteryx
• Experience with rolling out customer engagement channels and data warehouse systems
• Experience using data analytics to support business decisions and drive process improvement and optimization

Desirable requirements:
• Fluent in English, other languages desirable
• Experience in medical and/or commercial operations preferred
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize information to develop recommendations, and ability to persuade / influence organization of recommended path
