Job Description

Lead and drive Field Medical Excellence in region or local CPO by ensuring the execution of Field Medical strategic plans, launch readiness for the key products including MSL deployment, tools, and resources, and key systems and processes in collaboration with Regional Medical Directors, Global FME group, and Franchises/Global Medical Affairs Teams

Your responsibilities:

-Lead the Field Medical Team (MSL Managers) Guide and ensure the implementation of an effective Field Medical organization in assigned region / medical unit
-Provide a strategic framework for alignment of Field Medical and operational excellence to support consistency in execution across therapeutic areas and Franchises
-Guide the implementation of Field Medical Intelligence / insights and ex-change across functions, engagement strategy/plan, and execution
-Support and ensure Field Medical launch excellence and associated activities
-Ensure the enhancement of regional/CPO Field Medical capabilities, including but not limited to onboarding, soft skills, and coaching excellence
-Responsible for planning and execution of MSL/MSL Manager training in collaboration with Global FME group and Franchises / Global Medical Affairs Franchise Teams.
-Ensure local implementation of Field Medical training curricula and individual development plans
-Adapt Therapeutic medical resources to be used externally by MSLs
-Develop and maintain a regional deployment map for all brands in conjunction with CPO,1/3 regional, and global teams
-Develop and align with FME/CPOs standardized KPIs and ensure tracking
-Ensure regular reporting of deployment, KPIs and insights to regional/country medical leadership teams and global FME teams
-Provide coaching and talent development opportunities to direct reports and encourage them to do the same

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to the role:

• Advanced scientific or healthcare degree required; doctoral degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in healthcare.
• At least 5 years in pharmaceutical industry, field-based medical role preferred
• Clinical and research experience strongly preferred.
• Prior team leadership experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong personal integrity, strategic thinking, teamwork abilities and a customer focus are necessary.
• Must be strong team player who can effectively work cross-functionally in a matrix.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are required.
• A demonstrated ability to effectively lead, direct and coach scientific / medical colleagues at all skill and knowledge levels is essential.
• Understanding of the FDA, OIG, HIPAA and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry to ensure compliance with these external as well and internal guidelines are standard operating procedures.
• Must be able to organize, prioritize and work effectively in a constantly changing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• This is a field-based position
• Able and willing to travel – Extensive travel (approximately 60-70%) is required with this position.
