Job Description

As Head Safety you are responsible for ensuring compliance with legal and internal company requirements and guaranteeing a good standard of occupational safety on Site, as well as its further development.

Main responsibilities:

- Follows legislation and regulations in the field of occupational safety.
- Monitors and implements legal and Novartis safety requirements/programs.
- Manages the HSE SPOCs Team and ensures consistent implementation of HSE programs in their areas of responsibility.
- Advises line managers on occupational safety.
- Supports line managers in identifying, assessing and documenting occupational safety risks for employees and third parties at the workplace within the framework of hazard assessments/risk analyses and HSE tours/audits in cooperation with the respective HSE SPOCs and proposes necessary technical, organizational and personal protective measures.
- Supports line managers and project managers in the assessment of occupational safety risks in connection with projects and in the definition of necessary measures.
- Monitors the implementation of the protective measures defined on the basis of hazard assessments & and HSE tours/audits.
- Organizes and conducts training on occupational safety.
- Ensures the collection of necessary data/information in the area of occupational safety for the reporting of legal and company-internal required figures.
- Coaches and coordinates Safety team to achieve related targets/ Coordinates HR & succession planning of the team

Key performance indicators:
- Introduction, maintenance of preventive measures, programs, initiatives, etc. to increase safety performance
- Conduct and document hazard assessments/ risk analysis and HSE walk throughs/ audits
- Support line managers in the area of training and education
