CBT Cambridge is offering an exciting opportunity for an outstanding scientist with a dual experimental and computational background to join our efforts to discover novel therapeutics and drug targets. We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative scientist to support a novel approach to target identification and validation.

Beyond the lab, the candidate will interact with a coordinated team combining expert target validation approaches with the massive amount of drug discovery and biomedical data for disease target discovery and validation.

The CBT department encompasses the full-spectrum of sophisticated capabilities and ground breaking technologies needed to succeed in an innovative and collaborative drug discovery environment.

Your key responsibilities include:

- Contribute to the creation of an integrated dry and wet lab disease target validation framework

- Engage in an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment to initiate new research and drug discovery projects

- Perform research as a contributing bench and in silico scientist, collaborate closely with research teams within CBT as well as across diverse Disease Areas

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

- Recent Ph.D., or BS or MS and 8+ years of proven experience in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology techniques that include cell culture, transfection/electroporation, stable cell line generation by lentivirus or CRISPR, immunofluorescence, proliferation, flow cytometry, reporter assays, RNAi, cloning, PCR, qRT-PCR, immunoprecipitation, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, liquid handling robotics.

- Previous experience with data mining (e.g. RNAseq, Human genetics, single cell sequencing), proven learning agility, scientific curiosity, hands-on attitude with outstanding collaboration and communication skills

- Capability to work in a constantly evolving, collaborative and interdisciplinary research structure.

- Demonstrated ability to initiate or contribute to projects to answer key questions in areas involving target identification, cell signaling pathway dissection, disease biology understanding using small molecules and/or genetic approaches.

- Pragmatic risk taking to build new hypotheses and drug finding opportunities and curiosity about engaging with peers for the design and implementation of these ideas.

Desirable requirements:

- Previous experience in a drug discovery environment
