The Technical Design Expert is responsible to create the detailed IT solution/service design and associated document, based on functional specifications, to meet quality and performance requirements and technical constraints.

The Technical Design Expert will be responsible to design, implement, manage and maintain the design for a particular business domain. The role will support the technical lead for the overall design and coordination of information technology and understands how architectures, strategies, designs and plans fit together on the ServiceNow platform.

The role is responsible for delivery and deployment of solutions, practices and processes required by IT services and/or applications according to business needs.

Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Create the detailed process designs necessary to operate the software/service on a day-to-day basis
• Ensure designs produced adhere to architectural roadmap and support the development, execution and operations of software/service
• Peer review and sign off detailed designs by business.
• Ensure that detailed designs adhere to solution architecture design (i.e. high level conceptual design) and are traceable to functional as well as non-functional requirements in functional specification
• Ensure the overall user experience is taken into account when designing new solutions and services
• Take accountability to ensure adherence with Security and Compliance policies and procedures within Service Delivery scope
• Provides expertise, leadership, and oversight for design, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions including new applications, modules, integrations etc.
• Supports in setting standards for the ServiceNow instance governance related to best practices for defining configurations vs customizations, update set migration, cloning of environments, management of groups/users and data management
• Partners with the Solution Design Expert to understand business requirements and provide guidance to the business on how to get the best value out of the ServiceNow platform.
• Partners with applications and technology teams. Participates in team meetings, provides guidance, identifies architectural gaps and/or issues and represents the business domains interest in platform discussions.
• Analyzes the current business and technology environments to detect deficiencies and recommends ServiceNow solutions for the improved uses of information technology.
• Reviews all changes to the platform at a design level initially and then at the code level as part of the Change control process to ensure standards have been followed for development and any adverse impact for production move is avoided
• Evaluates new features in the platform with ServiceNow releases and the suitability/applicability in the current environment. Lead all upgrade projects to ensure minimal impact to existing operations while enabling new features
• Builds business case for other teams in the organization to utilize the platform for additional features to add business value.
