Scientific Events services in Novartis provide support for event planning, project management, content creation and execution of different types of scientific meetings and events.

This position is open to applications from the UK and Ireland.

The Client Services Lead works in partnership with key stakeholders (e.g., Brand Medical Directors, Scientific Engagement and Communication Directors) for assigned franchises/ therapeutic area (TA) or group of aligned TA’s. The role will involve seeing opportunities, adding value, revenue and forecasting of Medical Communications activities, managing a team and delivering Scientific Events.

Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Builds up and leads a group of Expert Client Services Managers, Senior Client Services Managers, Client Services Managers and Client Services Specialists to ensure management and delivery excellence of Medical Communications for the Global, regional, and country organizations for assigned therapeutic areas, ensuring adherence to quality, timelines, and efficiency objectives.
• Ensures alignment and collaboration between Medical Communications delivery teams and the client (including involvement in the management and resolution of issues and risks).
• Provides input into the Medical Communications strategic direction and associated tactics of client accounts based on a strong understanding of their business objectives.
• In collaboration with the Global Head of Scientific Events and the Director of Scientific Engagement, contributes to cost management of delivery for assigned franchise.
• Responsible for priority setting, workload distribution and resource planning to ensure appropriate pricing for Scientific Events using Medical Communications pricing tools (working with Scientific Writing Group/Team Leads to ensure adequate writing team resource is assigned for all projects)
• Ensures outstanding communication with all internal and external and clients through regular updates with focus on accomplishments, important metrics, standard methodology sharing, staffing changes, etc.
• Identifies and resolves operational issues, clearly articulates potential recommendations/solutions to Function Heads and Global Service Leads. Is proactive in planning; anticipating change and acting in accordance; drive meticulous implementation of team goals and metrics
• Recruits talent, manages performance (set objectives, review performance and plan compensation) and develops associates (development/training plans, Organizational Talent Review, coaching or mentoring, as appropriate). Sets direction, aligns, and motivates team members to achieve set goals and objectives
• Ensures compliance and inspection /audit readiness. Is accountable that all associates in the team are adequately trained and follow industry standards (incl. GPP3) and internal guidelines/SOPs, including GxP guidelines
