Position Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to ensure protection of site personnel, property and information. The Security Supervisor, under the guidance of Security Manager will ensure strict compliance of site security policies and procedures. The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the activities of the security shift which provides safety and protects all visitors, employees and company assets. Supervise programs and processes to reduce and control loss time injuries and thefts. Review staffing levels to maintain full coverage of posts. Delegate authority and assign responsibilities. Investigate incidents and/or complaints and compile data for accurate reporting.

Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Work closely with the Security Manager to ensure that the site is aligned to Novartis security standards, policies, guidelines and local ordinances.
• Supervision of Security guards on assigned shift and be responsible for the proper execution of assigned duties. Ensures that adequate security resources are provided for and deployed at the site.
• Responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training security guards, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining guards; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Conducts an annual site security assessment to identify risks and vulnerabilities. Then develops an action plan to mitigate the same.
• Oversees the performance of the security guard force/security contractors. Inspect / review documents maintained by security and safety staff deployed on site to ensure compliance to Global Security standards.
• Ensures that technical systems (i.e. access controls; CCTV; visitor management; operations centers) are in place and functioning all the time.
• Works closely with HSE to insure emergency response is in place (i.e. police, fire brigade, medical).
• Ensures that all security related incidents are reported to the Security Manager. Ensures all local meetings and congress are following established security practices.
• Develops cooperative relationships with local law enforcement authorities. Liaison with Police and Civil Administration on a regular basis. Promotes a secure work place environment.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Prior security, law enforcement or military training a plus.

• Completes Site Security training modules.

• Preferably ex-military personal with some post-retirement corporate experience ( Total experience of 10 -12 years).

• Experience in managing third party service delivery a plus. Knowledge and understanding of local security regulations and risks a plus.

• High level of personal credibility. Has the ability to create lasting relationships and is customer focused.

• Competency in analytical and problem solving skills.

• Working knowledge in English is a plus. Fluency of local languages Marathi and Hindi is essential.
