Our Ophthalmology Franchise is reimagining what’s possible by bringing life-altering treatments to patients with visual impairments and blindness.

The Worldwide Market Access Director will be responsible for building the market access strategy, helping to shape the external environment and provide the Access perspective in expanding the Ophtha pipeline for the future. Based in Novartis’ Headquarters, you will have the mission of ensuring patients can access treatment across the Globe.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Lead cross-functional value and access team to gather evidence which support payer value proposition and pricing strategy –Represent patient access in all major cross-functional teams at the program/brand level including Global Programme Teams, Global Brand Team and Global Medical Affairs Teams
• Provide an integrated access & pricing strategy aimed at delivering relevant product differentiation and value proposition to varying payers (in terms of e.g. target patient population, clinical comparators, clinical and economic outcome measures, patient reported outcomes, health economics data, patient preferences, and diagnostics)
• Ensure pricing & access strategy is aligned with the commercial strategy & forecast and is supported by the integrated evidence plan for submission at each development milestone (DDP, FDP, SDP) to maximize the life-time value of the product
• Provide the Access/HEOR/Evidence input to cross-functional Teams (GPT/GXT etc.) for products pre-FDP to optimize the development program and ensure key country requirements and insights drive the commercial plan incl. payer evidence needs, plans to generate evidence (clinical, HEOR, etc.)
• Ensure access & HEOR impact are considered for product indication sequencing

Minimum Requirements

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
• Degree or postgraduate degree in medicine, sciences, business administration health policy, health economics or other relevant qualification
• Deep understanding of payer/HTA environment and evolution across countries; in country reimbursement and global access experience would be preferred
• Demonstrable stakeholder management expertise
• Able to lead and inspire whilst displaying agility and enthusiasm
• Knowledge of Reimbursement processes and commercial principles
• Demonstrated experience conducting research with MCO, physician groups, &/or employers is desired
• Commercial experience and/or leadership experience in Healthcare
• Ability to work and lead (a cross-functional team) in a matrix environment and build strong relationships in virtual environment
• Ability to communicate effectively and motivate team alongside having a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of organization
• Previous cross-functional experience in Marketing or Access is an advantage
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to draw insights/derive viable strategic options for payers that offer opportunities to align cross-functionally to deliver superior value from the analytical research
• Team player, support and learn from peers, share best practice and enhance positive team culture
• Fluent written and spoken English; other languages an advantage
• Ophtha pipeline experience highly desirable
