The Salesforce footprint is growing in Novartis and we are looking for experienced Salesforce Architects to join our Salesforce CoE. This is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge of Salesforce as we already have a vast landscape of 50+ Salesforce orgs covering CRM, Patient Services, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and many other business capabilities. We use a number of Salesforce Products including Sales, Service, Health, Communities, Marketing (Email Studio, Social Studio, Pardot, etc.), Lightning Platform and Engagement (Heroku) as well as a number of partner applications including Veeva and Apttus. Our Salesforce Platform Architects come from a diverse range of backgrounds, but the one thing that unites them all is that they are subject matter experts in Salesforce.

Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Create the detailed process designs necessary to operate the software/service on a day-to-day basis
• Ensure designs produced adhere to architectural roadmap and support the development, execution and operations of software/service
• Peer review and sign off detailed designs by business.
• Ensure that detailed designs adhere to solution architecture design (i.e. high level conceptual design) and are traceable to functional as well as non-functional requirements in functional specification
• Ensure the overall user experience is taken into account when designing new solutions and services
• Take accountability to ensure adherence with Security and Compliance policies and procedures within Service Delivery scope
• Ensure system design standards are defined to improve and sustain standardization of solutions.

Salesforce Specific Accountabilities
• Governance & Oversight for Design/Standards and Delivery across multiple Salesforce projects
• Defines, publishes and govern technical design standards for Salesforce Projects
• Define and own Salesforce Platform processes.
• Consult with solution design to solve business and technical needs during both build and run phases of the platform components.
• Consultation with Salesforce on Innovations and Accelerator tasks
• Consultation on environment structures and development toolkits to support release management processes
• Define and manage Salesforce Org Strategy and landscape including org assessments, health checks, periodic code scanning and ensure IT Security controls are maintained
• Review of Salesforce Release notes and define impacts for existing applications
• Attendance at Technical Change Approval Board meeting; Review and perform impact analysis of Salesforce change requests
• Alignment with IT Security and Technical Architecture Domain group ensuring that all controls are in place and maintained across Salesforce landscape
• Assessment of SDLC tools and App Exchange products.
• Manage inventory of Salesforce Re-useable components
• Manage inventory of AppExchange products

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Minimum education: University degree in business/technical area adequate equivalent
• 8+ years’ experience in a similar role with a proven track record in managing Global and large scale projects
• Advanced knowledge of Salesforce System Architecture and Technical standards;
• Experience in analyzing new technologies and doing POC's;
• Ability to engage on large geographically dispersed teams;
• Expert knowledge of software management tools;
• Proven capacity to respond to changes which impact the program, deal with uncertainty and proactively resolve issues to deliver the best possible outcome
• Highly dependable, outstanding attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
• Ability to work with others in a high paced, fluid, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to operate in matrix organization with diverse groups of stakeholders

Desirable requirements:
• Salesforce Certification an advantage
