Sep 23, 2021

Job Description

1.2 million! The number of patients who benefited from Novartis Oncology therapeutics in 2020! Oncology Data Science provides computational biology expertise to NIBR Oncology, from target ID through clinical development, for both targeted and immune therapies. We apply cutting-edge technologies and analytical approaches to elucidate the molecular basis for therapeutic response in individual cancer patients. Using sequencing data generated from thousands of patient samples collected in Novartis oncology clinical trials, we bring hypotheses from biomarker discovery to bear on drug discovery and development.

We are seeking a Senior Principal / Associate Director in NIBR Oncology Data Science to direct a team of data scientists advancing the translation of high-dimensional data (e.g. RNA-sequencing and cell-free DNA-sequencing) from patients in clinical trials of targeted-therapies in oncology. You will mentor and develop team members, nurture close collaborations with oncology clinical trial teams, and drive biomarker and exploratory data science strategy.

- Lead a team of ~3 translational data scientists
- Design and perform analyses of high-dimensional biomarker data and clinical variables to test and discover biomarkers for response and resistance to therapy
- Develop innovative analytical approaches with translational impact for clinical genomic data and real world data
- Develop and maintain strong collaborations with clinical trial teams, other analytic line functions, and drug discovery teams across the organization
- Contribute to translational data science strategy within the Oncology Data Science team
