Position Summary
GTx is dedicated to developing and commercializing novel treatments for patients suffering from rare and life-threatening neurological genetic diseases. Our initial product is a proprietary gene therapy approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of pediatric patients with SMA. In addition to developing a treatment for SMA, GTx also plans to develop other novel treatments for rare neurological diseases, including Rett syndrome.

GTx is seeking a Business Analyst that collaborates with Business Owners/Users to understand their demand, strategize solutions and collaborate on delivery of value added IT solutions representing Corporate Business Services (CBS) while working closely with TechOps, Supply Chain, Quality and Finance Departments.

• Serve as a Technology Service partner and represent CBS while working closely with TechOps, Supply Chain, Quality and Finance Departments.
• Gather Requirements and perform Scoping Assessments to determine feasibility of a Project/Solution
• Drive and collaborate with delivery team to implement new IT capabilities, including
o Document as-is/to-be processes and data relationships/flows
o Identify gaps in existing functionality and review requirements with Stakeholders
o Develop a comprehensive requirement specifications that will determine the estimate of cost, time and resources to deploy solutions
o Liaise with the other team members to develop functional solution
o Ensure that relevant stakeholders are involved in specification of new services and/or major upgrades to existing services
o Ensure the overall user experience is taken into account when designing and deploying new solutions and services
o Ensure consistency and traceability between user requirements, functional specifications and testing & validation. Support validation and testing (OQ, PQ, UAT...)
o Ensure implemented solutions are according to specifications and fit for purpose.
o Support super user training
o Keep abreast with internal IT systems and documentation requirements, standards (including quality management and IT security)
o Keep abreast with industry best practices in leveraging technologies for the business and with regulatory environments / requirements if applicable.
o Take accountability to ensure adherence with Security and Compliance policies and procedures within Service Delivery scope
o Participate in ERP deployments, upgrades, and implementations of added functionality
• Contribute to business leads as they prepare for implementation of new IT capabilities and introduce process changes in the organization
• Establishes a culture of accountability, collaboration, courage and continuous improvement

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, science or comparable education/experience
• 5+ years of work experience in life sciences in business analysis or equivalent role
• Excellent understanding of TechOps, Supply Chain, Quality and Finance processes and systems
• 6+ years of ERP (preferably QAD or SAP) experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience with computer systems validation practices
• Knowledge of IT strategy and architectural standards
• Proven delivery track record in international, distributed organizations
• High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage in a matrix organization
• Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels, including non-technical audiences
