6000! That’s the number of associates in the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR). This division is the innovation engine of Novartis, focusing on new technologies that have the potential to help produce therapeutic breakthroughs for patients. The Biologics Center (NBC) is housed within the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR). NBC, in collaboration with the disease areas and other platform groups, builds the future biologics therapy pipeline of Novartis through the discovery and creation of new antibody, protein, nucleic acid and virus-based molecules.

This role is limited for 9 months.

Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Generation of recombinant cell lines in various mammalian host cell backgrounds to enable therapeutic protein discovery and development
• Generation of production Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell lines that are the basis for Biologics manufacturing
• Small scale expression testing by transient transfection of mammalian cells with subsequent analysis using Western Blot, ELISA, flow cytometry and other assays
• Interaction with Biologics research and development project teams and presentation of results in team meetings
• Reporting of results into electronic lab notebooks compliant with Research and Development non-GMP quality standards
