Scientific Events services in Novartis provide support for event planning, project management, content creation and execution of different types of scientific meetings and events.

The Expert Client Services Manager is responsible for project management oversight and co-ordination of medical and commercial development across key scientific events, ensuring alignment with the Franchise objectives. Working closely with the Client Services Team, this role acts as a partner for Novartis business colleagues, plays a key role in congress support, and leads planning and delivery of key priority and/or strategic scientific events. They may also manage events of greater complexity (large number of external vendors, greater number of participants, multi-sites, virtual aspects, new technologies, digital events etc.).

Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide project management support for assigned events to ensure effective end-to-end delivery.
• Act as a point of contact or as a source of advice for assigned client(s) with respect to Scientific Events. Proactively recommend innovative Medical Communication solutions to client requests.
• Responsible for congress co-ordination, from pre-congress alignment meetings to onsite management and through to post activity management. As well as management of external vendors, budget and acting as an internal and external liaison throughout.
• Lead an internal Client Services project team, set clear direction and priorities; mentor and coach associates for improved performance.
• Maintain visibility of Scientific Events projects to ensure quality reviews are undertaken and provide SME input/guidance to delivery teams as required.
• Ensure timely and accurate client documentation and correspondence. Promote Best Practice Sharing and Innovation across Medical Communications teams.
• Support the delivery of innovative approaches for Scientific Events deliverables - e.g. virtual and digital
• Ensure co-ordination with support functions e.g. Scientific Engagement Governance, Compliance and Legal to ensure compliance with industry standards and that appropriate approvals are in place.
• Responsible for adherence to associated compliance related activities and approvals (with internal client taking accountability for compliance).

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• 10+ years’ experience of working with Medical Communications for either an agency or from within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Track record in leading the delivery of Scientific Events & excellent stakeholder management.
• High level of experience in digital solutions and innovation with an openness to piloting new ideas
• Experience in cross cultural work environment.
• Fluent English (oral and written)
