Principal Scientist, TR&D GDD / Process Analytical Science, Schaftenau, Austria

25+! This is the number of New Biological Entity and Biosimilar projects the Process Analytical Science Team is currently developing! Your team is key in developing Biosimilars as well as New Biological Entities by performing a wide range of analytical activities during drug substance and drug product development. Many of these projects are for medicines that could significantly advance treatment standards for patients worldwide.

Your responsibilities
As a Principal Scientist you will be an Analytical Expert within the Process Analytical Science team at our TRD Biologics site in Schaftenau, Austria.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Being part of the analytical sub-team and lead/manage activities contributing the overall strategies and goals of the project
• Ensure excellent collaboration across the project team as well as local interfaces, academic and external partners and scientific networks
• Support task planning to enable successful execution on Bx portfolio
• Understand customer needs, review and oversee analytical requests, interpret and share analytical results, support customer with expertise
• Write technical protocols, scientific development reports as well as contribute development and implementation of new technologies
• Assure all project activities are performed in compliant way and in timely manner, meeting projects demands and timelines
• Ensuring compliance of activities with quality standards (DQP), safety standards (HSE) and other Novartis standards

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to the role:
• University degree (Master / PhD or equivalent) in life sciences
• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry
• Sound technical & scientific knowledge of pharmaceutical development, analytical sciences, or equivalent
• Experience within biologics drug development beneficial
• Thorough understanding of analytical techniques, e.g. HPLC, CE, ELISA, protein chemistry
• Knowledge on Health authority regulations
• Excellent communication, presentation and management skills
• Proficiency in oral and written English.

Desirable requirements
• Experience with working in a matrix organization desirable
• Basic Knowledge of project management

For this position the minimum salary is € 52.204,04/year (on a full time basis). We also offer a potential market oriented excess payment in line with your experience and qualifications.
