The Director Oncology Strategy in the Global team has primary responsibility to lead cross-functional strategic projects sponsored by Oncology President and Oncology Leadership Team (OLT).

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Lead strategic projects for Novartis Oncology as defined by the President and OLT members.
• Lead cross functional teams to successful execution with clear top or bottom-line impact in near and long-term and ensure projects which use external management consultants are well led and viewed as successful.
• Prepare recommendations and present updates to the OLT on various projects.
• Support annual strategic planning and Disease Area Strategy review process including defining targets, collaborating with key partners and conceiving/executing Oncology Strategic Plan summary submission with potential for major impact on Novartis growth plans and profitability.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities with Oncology Leadership team, which could significantly impact Novartis growth and profitability.
• Prepare recommendations and present updates to the OLT and deliver on ad hoc requests from Oncology President on key issues.
• Support other group activities (e.g. company assessments, Innovation, Quality, Productivity project, competition intelligence efforts and implementation of ongoing projects)
• Help to maintain high caliber of the group through active recruiting and development/coaching

Minimum Requirements

• Masters or PhD, life science topic preferred.
• Min 6 years of experience in Business Consultancy with experience in Life Sciences is required, strategic consulting background preferred
• Strong skills in leading cross-functional strategic projects with significant business impact
• Significant experience in senior stakeholder management, and in actively engaging and leading associates from widely varying backgrounds & functions within a complex matrix organization
• Proven track record to influence without authority
• Exceptional consulting execution skills and autonomy, spanning across qualitative and quantitative analysis, story lining and curated slide design capabilities

Desirable:
• Significant commercial experience in major Oncology or Life Science companies.
