The Medical Programmes Team (MPT) is an enterprise-level specialty group of medical advisors providing medical leadership across the whole oncology business, with a focus on Precision Medicine, Real World Evidence, and building sustainable external partnerships to deliver improvements in patient outcomes

Your responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Support the development of medical programmes plans, including precision medicine and real world evidence medical activities, with an impact across the whole Oncology Business Unit (OBU)

Collaborate across the OBU with multiple teams and functions supporting inline, pipeline and launch teams objectives

Provide internal strategic leadership across the OBU to deliver overall cross-franchise objectives and ensure delivery of relevant insights and external updates

Lead on enterprise level medical programmes and studies

Co-ordinate and liaise with internal region and global enterprise level teams

Build external stakeholder relationships and develop external sustainable partnerships to deliver on defined objectives

Ensure compliance with P3 and all relevant local regulations

Role model the culture, values and behaviors of Novartis

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

Team player, strong communication skills, excellent planning and organisational skills, and with a clear patient focus

3years+ prior medical / scientific affairs experience in a relevant therapeutic setting.

Proven track record of external stakeholder relationships building and management

Experience of co-creation and delivery of projects with stakeholders in the healthcare systems is an advantage

Applies business insights with an operational excellence mindset for stakeholder engagement, projects, continuous learning and joint value creation.

Self-motivated innovative thinker, with excellent problem solving skills and decision making abilities

Comfort and agility to adapt to a rapidly evolving external environment

Strong business acumen.

Experienced in working across multiple functions and with diverse teams

Strong medical and scientific data analysis, reporting, and writing capabilities

Medical Science and disease area knowledge with ability to comprehensively learn new subject areas.

Understanding of Clinical Trial Design and scientific methodology.

Masters’ degree or equivalent in a relevant degree field (Medical, Pharmacy, Medical Science, Scientific Affairs) or Bachelor Degree with significant clinical research and/or medical affairs experience. Medically qualified or possession of a PhD qualification (scientific/medical background) is desirable but not required

Capacity to maintain the highest ethical standards, experience with ethics and compliance policies and medical governance, relevant regulations and industry standards including Good Clinical Research Practice and the ABPI Code of Practice.

Desirable requirements:

Ph.D or equivalent experience in Molecular Biology, Oncology, Molecular Pathology, Lab Medicine, Biological Sciences, Bioinformatics, or Biostatistics is an advantage

Experience in working in oncology diagnostics or precision medicine is an advantage

Experience in delivery of real world data analytics/real world evidence studies is an advantage
