Associate Director Operational Excellence Analytical Development (f/m/d), Portfolio and Strategy Management AD. The position can be based in Austria, Germany, Switzerland or Slovenia

More than 300! The No. of enthusiastic associates in analytical development in Technical Research and Development Biologics, who brings medicines to patients in clinical trials.

As an Associate Director Operational Excellence, you will be part of the Biologics Analytical Development (AD) Portfolio and Strategy Management (PSM) team. You build-up and manage the AD Drug Enabling Project (DEP) structure. As a key member of the PSM team you will define and develop best practices that are key to the success of the AD Drug Enabling Project governance, in close alignment with the broader TRD Biologics & CGT Drug Enabling Portfolio Governance and in close collaboration with the global Project Management Office.

Your key responsibilities
• Build-up the DEP structure in AD including oversight, governance, definition of linkage to PSM-PMO
• Act as a strong matrix leader for Project Managers in PSM-AD as well as discipline workstream leaders across the broader AD and Biologics & CGT community
• Engage the broader community, by acting as a role-model for matrix- and project-management across scientific- and operational-initiatives
• Foster excellence in preparation, planning, execution, tracking, reporting and risk management of AD drug-enabling projects
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities that support business needs in a cost effective, operationally efficient manner
• Ensure efficient and transparent allocation of project team resources to accomplish AD project portfolio
• Lead change management activities to ensure organizational readiness for implementation
• Lead selected discipline or cross functional projects from start to completion

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to the role
• >10 years of practical experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnological industry
• > 2 years of experience in Biologics Analytical Development
• Strong experience in Project Management, excellent organization and planning skills
• Thorough understanding of pharmaceutical/biotechnological drug development
• Problem-solving and idea generation skills
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
• Ability to work with high number of stakeholders with different backgrounds in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
• Fluent English (oral and written)

Desirable requirement
• Knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g. GxP) and Novartis specific standards

For this position the minimum salary is € 63.388,92/year (on a full time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies. We are open for part-time and job sharing models and support flexible and remote working where possible.
