We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced translational researcher familiar with applying molecular techniques to human immunology and the process biomarker discovery for a laboratory head position to support discovery and application of cutting-edge technologies in the context of drug discovery programs for autoimmune inflammatory diseases.

You will be responsible for leading a state-of-the-art laboratory to:
 Develop and implement innovative molecular biology and molecular immunology technologies (e.g. RNAseq, scRNAseq, spatial transcriptomics) for better understanding of disease pathophysiology and patient stratification
 Bridge multi-omics technologies for biomarker discovery efforts in context of drug discovery projects
 Contribute to a multidisciplinary network of technology, data science and drug discovery teams across the organization.
Your responsibilities include:
Spearheading our efforts to drive innovation through the development and application of new genomic methods for rapid discovery of new disease biology, novel drug targets, and disease biomarker. Your mission will be to:
 Maintain and advance our suite of next-generation sequencing methodologies including bulk RNA-seq, single cell RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, metagenomics, etc;
 Proactively identify new genomic and multi-omics solutions and develop a strategy for their implementation based upon emerging needs;
 Design and create custom molecular biology solutions to assist project teams with special needs;
 Liaise with project teams and data scientists by providing advice and recommendations on experimental design and results interpretation;
 Engage with genomic specialists across the organization to build a common genomic data infrastructure.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum requirements:
 Ph.D. in molecular immunology, molecular pathology, molecular biology, genomics or a related field with at least 3 years of successful independent research experience in academia or the biotech/pharmaceutical sector;
 Sound understanding of immunology and how a dysregulated immune system contributes to autoimmunity and inflammatory diseases;
 A strong background and extensive hands-on experience in establishing and applying cutting-edge molecular biology methods and multi-omics technologies;
 An extensive understanding of various assay methods and principles, data processing pipelines for NGS data, QC tools and statistical analysis;
 Experience in functional genomics of advantage;
 Ability to independently design and conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data, and communicate findings to multi-disciplinary audiences;
 Excellent team spirit, good communication skills, creative problem-solving capabilities, and ability to thrive in an inter-disciplinary, collaborative environment of biomedical scientists;
 Flexibility and aptitude for learning, with a passion to drive groundbreaking science.
