Millions of people die from chronic lung/kidney diseases each year. The translational department at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research seeks to better understand chronic diseases and ultimately discover and develop transformative new medicines. We are seeking a motivated scientist to join the translational group, who will be part of a team responsible to establish a biorepository of human tissues for use in assay development and target validation. Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Work with human tissues (lung and/or kidney) to expand bio banking

- Perform purification and culture of multiple primary human cell types

- Participate in complex assay development for target Identification/validation

- Evaluate efficacy for pipeline compounds using cellular/complex tissue assays

- Collaborate while working in a matrix environment to support drug discovery projects

- Perform data analysis and keep excellent laboratory, data recording and documentation practices

- Present plan/results/next steps in lab and department meetings

- The candidate may participate in alliances with external partners at top healthcare institutions, with the opportunity to publish your work
