The SSC is accountable to provide strategic input to the RLT medical team on disease and launch plans for Regional Medical Director (RMD) execution in collaboration with the respective RMD Leader. This role is responsible for communication of strategy, disease, product and competitive information to the respective RMD team and leads the development of the training and external facing content plan to support customer engagement and ensure scientific excellence and therapeutic proficiency for customer facing roles.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• In collaboration with RMD Leader, develop the RMD customer engagement strategy for respective disease area, including design of RMD strategic & tactical plans, and provide input into the USOM and Global IDAPS plans.

• Align with RMD leader to lead integration of RMD launch strategy into the overall Medical Launch strategy including design of RMD strategic & tactical plans, launch readiness plans, as well input into development of the scientific narrative and medical value statements that are aligned with strategy and cross-functional teams for field execution, including training and preparedness.

• Provide input into communication plans for Strategic Congress planning as well as the medical component of priority Medical Congresses (e.g., ASCO, ASH, SABCS, etc.) in collaboration with RMD Leader, FM Scientific Strategy & Content Directors (SSC’s), EDMs and aligned with RLT medical and MLT.

• Support processes to infuse meaningful insights/needs from RMDs into RLT or product strategies

• Lead cross-functional interactions to strategically identify RMD content and provide guidance to content creators (Sci Comm, HEOR, and clinical teams) to ensure content supports high quality, compliant scientific discussions of Novartis compounds with customers.

• Ensure understanding of and educate non-promotional reviewers on relevant WPDs to review customer materials aligned with medical strategy and lead RMD content through the non-promotional review and approval process. Ensure that all external and internal resources and content for customer engagement are aligned with compliance guidelines and developed and updated to support RMD and RLT strategy.

• Develop and implement training plan for RMD to support RLT Medical strategy, including scientific narrative/medical value statements, medical patient journey, real world scenarios as well as Novartis data, landscape of disease, implications, FAQs etc. Following content/tool approval, ensure content/tool availability and communicate clear and compliant content/tool direction/guidance aligned with relevant working practices to RMD associates as appropriate.

• Liaise and align with RLT medical leadership, TMO and others within USOM to provide strategic input into medical feasibilities, clinical trial design and RMD support of clinical trials as well as investigator nominations, strategic ME engagement and competitive trial management.


 This position can be based remotely anywhere in the U.S. (there may be some exceptions based on legal entity registration). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager.
