Lead CTS Legal in Germany and Austria and act as the legal business partner to the CTS domains. Provide and oversee legal support to the Customer & Technology Solutions (CTS) organization in these two countries. Ensure CTS projects/services are designed and implemented in accordance with applicable law and company policies. Act in full collaboration and alignment with Country Legal organizations and Global CTS Legal.

Working agreement 80 – 100 %

Your responsibilities:
• Ensure proper alignment with Global CTS Legal in all relevant activities relating to CTS in Germany and Austria. Act as business partner and lead attorney for the CTS domains in these two countries. Active member of the CTS Country Board Germany.
• Manage day-to-day legal counselling and advice to the CTS organization in an efficient and productivity enhancing manner. Lead the development of overall CTS Legal functional strategy in the country. Handle disputes relating to the CTS organization.
• Ensure reporting of issues and other material matters to the Global Head Legal TT & CTS Europe.
• Drive and implement standardization and simplification initiatives as per guidance from Global CTS Legal and in close alignment with Country Legal Organizations.
• Realize synergies and productivity gains of legal processes in the country. Oversee & lead as well as execute the drafting, review and negotiation of various types of contracts related to the sourcing of goods and services from third parties and the provision of services to other Novartis companies.
• Collaborate with Country Legal organizations on country level legal initiatives. Manage legal aspects of projects and drive them to conclusion.
• Coordinate with other Novartis lawyers in the country and if necessary in the region as well as with CTS attorneys at global level to ensure an aligned and timely rollout of CTS services
• Advise on legal aspects of policies, procedures, training and risk assessments. Manage the budget and resource allocation for CTS Legal in the countries.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Law school graduate & Bar member or eligibility
• Fluent German and English knowledge in writing and speaking
• 10 years of professional experience; post bar experience, gained either within a multinational corporation and/or top tier law firm specialized in commercial contracts in areas such as IT, real estate, HR, marketing and manufacturing
• Strong verbal & written communication skills; together with a high ability to influence and negotiate in an effective way
• Drives for superior results, strong leadership and business partnering skills, collaborates across boundaries for shared success

Desirable requirements:
• Ability to reduce complexity into pragmatic, business driven recommendations and set priorities when working within tight time pressures & demanding clients
• Expertise in managing global and complex deals
