Position Purpose
This is a universal job description meant to capture some of the primary duties of this role that are common across functions or divisions. The Medical Science Liaison Director (MSL Associate Director) will serve as a liaison to the medical/scientific community and will be responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with medical experts in the Dermatology therapeutic area within the specified geographic area of coverage.

This role will cover the Regions of Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and Southern California (San Diego). The preferred residence of the candidate would be Denver or Phoenix.

Major Accountabilities:

•The Medical Science Liaison Associate Director will ensure the appropriate dissemination of clinical and scientific information regarding marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely, ethical and customer-focused manner.
•The MSL Associate Director will implement clinical and educational strategies in collaboration with other Novartis colleagues for designated customers that include potential clinical trial site placement and sponsorships.
•The MSL Associate Director will work to pair our key customer's educational and research needs with available Novartis resources and will provide the latest emerging data in response to specific healthcare professional inquiries.

Key Performance Indicators

•The MSL Associate Director is expected to have consistent local, regional (within specified territory) impact with a solutions-oriented approach in identifying big picture needs.
•The MSL Associate Director is expected to demonstrate strong strategic thinking and have an enterprise-wide mindset. He/she should be viewed as an established MSL leader and act as a mentor/coach to colleagues.
•The MSL Associate Director should have strong influencing skills and tangible examples of territory impact. This individual is expected to support and inspire colleagues and serve as a positive change agent.
•Importantly, the MSL Associate Director contributes to building high performing teams.
