Reporting to Chief Scientific Officer, this is a scientific role that will have opportunity to craft and implement the strategy of Novartis Biosimilar/ Immunology portfolio in Ireland. It will require therapeutic area expertise and business understanding to identify and address the relevant medical needs of clinical practice to optimally support the efficient use of Novartis products as well as to collaborate with Country, Regional and Global team members in the execution of clinical activities in assigned project

Responsibilities
• Participate in the development of strategic plans in collaboration with other cross functional teams for optimal usage of Novartis medicinal products
• Provide valid and timely interpretations of medical data from medical research in the assigned Therapeutic Area and identify appropriate communication strategy for external and internal stakeholders Defines and executes Medical Expert (ME) engagement strategy, discussing medical scientific evidence on therapy area and new treatment options
• Design, conduct and publishes local Phase IV studies/ secondary data collection in the CPO to collect data on real world usage of Novartis products
• Support investigator-initiated research studies aligned with the Global Clinical Development Plan Collaborates with Clinical Operations, advises / recommends potential investigators for local and global studies, ensuring the right mix of MEs
• Participate in capturing clinical insights from MEs in country and communicates to internal cross functional teams
• Keep up to date with key developments in assigned Therapeutic Areas, including relevant Novartis and competitor products and broader developments.
• Ensure that own work meets all regulatory requirements and align with local and Global standard operating procedures and guidelines
• Establish rapport with country level MEs and engages with them in reactive non-promotional manner to address scientific, educational needs
Ethics and Compliance
• Ensure you meet all regulatory requirements and comply with local and Global standards including applicable legislation, industry codes of practice and Novartis policies and procedures
• Review promotional and non-promotional materials and activities within required guidelines to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, industry codes of practice and Novartis policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Minimum: Degree in Health Sciences; MD and PhD is desirable
• 3 years previous experience from medical or clinical development roles in Pharmaceutical or Healthcare-related Industry
