Job Description

As a Key Account Manager, you will build and execute business plans for your assigned territory; drive sales performance, market share and develop effective professional business relationships with customers.

Additionally, you will implement robust account plans with complex customers including hospitals, institutions, local health authorities or private payers.

The Innovation and Excellence Unit intends to lead the way in providing affordable, high-quality biosimilars that improve access to life-changing medicines for Irish Patients.

Play your part to differentiate Novartis as a leader in the market

• Establish Novartis as a leader in the field of Biosimilars through the provision of affordable, high quality medicines and solutions to improve the outcomes of patients in Ireland
• Accountable for the implementation of the launch strategy and frameworks in designated Key Accounts to optimize sales, market share and/or revenue growth for a defined biosimilar portfolio in the short and long terms.
• Developing effective professional relationships to support the delivery of business results
• Driving sales performance by building and executing sales plans to meet targeted expectations within their assigned territory
• Working with other Novartis functions across franchises and decision makers in Key Accounts to jointly bring value for customers, patients and Novartis. Collaboration to ensure listing, pricing negotiations and contracts that achieve sustained value and access for biosimilars.
• Represent and promote the Novartis Biosimilars portfolio, driving demand and competition within hospitals resulting in increased treatment options and value-added services to support patient care and the healthcare community.
• Work closely with the Biosimilars lead, Market Access and extended team to drive Biosimilars sales across all indications
• Deploy and use Marketing and Sales promotional materials and programmes; coordinates direct promotion programmes
• Collaborate with Biosimilar lead and Market Access KAM to originate, develop and implement key account plans on agreed targets

Other major responsibilities:
• Cultivate relationships, build customer loyalty and work optimally within a complex customer matrix, with a key focus on clinical customers
• Develop and apply a deep understanding of customer organisations and networks, including senior partners in key accounts (Public and Private) and the diverse influencing factors that affect customer decisions
• Demonstrate strong customer understanding and a consistent customer and patient centric approach to business activities and relationships
• Ensure a detailed knowledge and understanding of the healthcare environment and the priorities, drivers, pressures and needs of customers to generate insights and find opportunities to co-create value solutions with key accounts and individual decision makers (e.g. physicians, pharmacists, nurses).

Integrity and compliance:
• Comply with IPHA Code of Practice and Novartis Code of Conduct (NP4) and all internal SOP’s relating to Hospital Specialist & KAM activities
• Ensure adequate preparation and follow-up of specific training modules (medical, product, competitor product, selling-skills, CRM).
• Demonstrate Novartis values and behaviours at all times
• Ensure HCPs understand the safety profile of Novartis Biosimilars; collects and forwards safety information received from HCPs in the course of their promotional activities to DSE.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Degree or equivalent.
• Relevant sales experience with a minimum 2 years relevant pharmaceutical experience dealing with HCPs and local payers (public and private).
• Strong knowledge of the biosimilar landscape, local healthcare system and Irish Pharmaceutical Market is desirable but not required
