The Business Unit Head is a member of the local Leadership Team directly reporting to the Country Head and has the full responsibility of the assigned business unit and related P&L. He/she manages and continues to develop the overall performance of the Business Unit current and future product portfolio, maximizing sales within agreed expense budgets, meeting agreed organizational objectives, through effective leadership of the sales, marketing and tender team and optimal management of resources.

Major Responsibilities

• Sustain growth of existing channels (Wholesalers, Buying Groups , Pharmacies, GDS/Bottled business & Healthcare Insurance Companies)
• Retail pipeline: prepare and effectively execute the launch of the Business Unit portfolio
• Responsible for & owner of Business unit P&L budget as outlined in the annual target process. Having close alignment with Head Finance and Country Head to achieve the country business objectives and deliver these objectives in timely basis
• NVS Mature portfolio: ensure successful transition into Sandoz and improve performance of Mature Brand business
• Participate to the evaluation of potential new products
• Closely cooperate with Sandoz HQ and functional global departments in order to align local activities with global strategy
• Marketing& Sales: design and implement the commercial strategy for the BU portfolio
• Effective people Management. (Goal setting, talent management, performance management, etc.) in line with the leadership culture of Sandoz that contributes to an unbossed, curious and inspired organization
• Organization & culture: being a role model for servant leadership, applying coaching and creating a psychological safe environment within the BU and beyond. Ensure effective sizing and structures of the team to properly manage business objectives and team effectiveness.

• Other functions: managing all issues related to administration, Human Resources, Legal, Fiscal areas in coordination and with the support of Novartis and/or Sandoz Group Functions
• In all interactions, external and internal, effectively adhere and promote the highest ethical standards and behaviours, including compliance with all applicable laws, policies and regulations
• Define tender strategy to drive top and bottom line results. Define complex tender bidding models and provide accurate analyses to drive analytically and commercially the tender business
