Come join the Biological Chemistry team, a highly collaborative drug discovery group focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of cancer and the discovery, characterization and optimization of Oncology therapeutics. We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative protein scientist to join our team to create a diverse set of target and tool proteins for use in biochemical/biophysical assays and structure/function studies. The successful candidate will work with multidisciplinary project teams to understand target protein functions, protein-ligand binding interactions, PTM effects and enzyme mechanisms related to cancer therapeutics.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Core expertise as protein scientist to develop new strategies to study targets and support ongoing project goals
• Leverage current and emerging technologies, techniques, and automation to generate proteins and biomolecular complexes for use in drug discovery efforts
• Analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data to multidisciplinary project teams
• Contribution to group organization, productivity, and expertise through collaboration, training and idea exchange
• Additionally Senior Scientists are expected to independently drive project experiments/strategy, contribute expertise on different techniques/equipment and mentor junior group members

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to the role:
• MS or BA/BS in Molecular biology, Biochemistry, Biochemical engineering or a related field.
Research Scientist: Minimum of 3 years of industry experience
Senior Scientist: MA with at least 5 years industry experience or BA/BS with at least 7 years industry experience
• Required: Experience with recombinant protein expression and purification using E. coli, insect and/or mammalian cell lines along with protein characterization techniques
• Required: Knowledge of FPLC systems and purification with different chromatography methods such as affinity, IEX and SEC
• Preferred: Experience designing protein expression constructs and/or using high-throughput systems for protein purification and characterization
• An interest in taking on a role that will allow professional growth and development and the opportunity to learn new and cutting edge methods
• An excellent team-player with strong communication skills

This is a dual posting. The final level & title of the offer role would be determined by the hiring team based on the skills, experience & capabilities required to perform the role at the level the role has been offered (Research Scientist/Senior Scientist).
