Senior Technical Expert Downstream Process Development (f/m/d), GDD, Schaftenau, Austria

Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• You will provide scientific expert leadership to biopharmaceutical downstream process development and deliver the DSP part of technical development projects
• You will lead the DSP functional sub-team for the projects in your area of responsibility in a matrix organization (organize and lead meetings, prepare minutes, define timelines and tasks) and provide excellent scientific guidance on process development, optimization and characterization
• You will contribute or lead strategies on science and technologies; manage operational aspects in the laboratory or plant as assigned
• You will prepare and review technical documents including study protocols and reports, risk assessments and provide input for master documents
• You will align and collaborate with customers (e.g. DS Project Lead, Process Analytics, RA CMC, QA, and Production)
• You will develop, mentor and coach other scientific associates; present scientific/technical results internally and contribute to publications, presentations and patents
• You will generate development guidelines, propose and implement new development concepts
• You will actively drive knowledge exchange

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Technical expert studies with PhD and 6 years relevant industrial experience or equivalent technical education and industrial experience and a known expert in the scientific community
• Excellent theoretical and scientific knowledge of and experience in development of chromatography steps, normal flow and tangential flow filtration steps for biologics/ biopharmaceuticals
• Excellent scientific project management and leadership skills
• Excellent understanding of regulatory expectations
• Proficient with laboratory and/or technical tools
• Excellent presentation skills
• Proficient scientific/technical writing skills
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
• Good knowledge of relevant software and computer tools (e.g. statistical software)
• Fluency in English, German is a plus

• A personality with a can-do mind-set and the ability to adopt to change with strong communication and presentation skills

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 51,180.50/year (on a full time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies. We are open for part-time and job sharing models and support flexible working and home-office where possible
