Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Design, implementation and rollout of Data Engineering solution on Novartis Big Data platforms, including code management and review, (automated) testing, configuration and performance tuning.
• Strong experience for project implementation using AWS services, Spark, Databricks. Experience in Glue, Athena, lamdba, Redshift is preferred. Knowledge in Snowflake, Matillion, Graph database is added advantage.
• Collaborate with Full Stack Engineering team to meet CI/CD requirements and ensure smooth deployment of Data Engineering components. Ensure that system designs adhere to solution architecture design and are traceable to functional as well as non-functional requirements in projects/enhancements
• Support project scoping, fit-gap workshops for projects/enhancements, propose solutions for key gaps, provide effort estimations and alignment with business teams. Perform design and code review of solutions implemented to ensure adherence to design standards.
• Be a part of strategy team discussion and contribute towards data engineering designs, implementation principles and standards. Accountable for Implementation for Data Business Solutions.
• Deliver Data Solutions and setting-up product teams and operational alignment. Manage Country specific data requirements and align with EDO’s. Work with Delivery teams for both internal employee and external implementation partners.
• Assist to establish, maintain and evolve information architecture best practices, guidelines, principles and standards in alignment with Novartis Data Strategy team's vision. Capture and maintain metadata in the enterprise data catalog solution
• Drive Data Modelling initiatives and assist in the architecture, design and development of overall data architecture by collaborating with various business partners, other IT Teams, Architecture teams. Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models using Novartis data modelling guidelines - Define and ensure data models are in conformance with relevant industry standards and best practices are followed.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or information technology discipline; an advanced degree and related accreditations a plus.
• At least 15+ years IT experience in a highly qualified function such as senior IT Leader, Enterprise Data Management and Master Data Management transformation. Includes: architecture, design, delivery, and continuous improvement. Minimum of ten years of hands-on design and implementation experience in IT (solution requirements / design, data Management solution delivery) leveraging various cloud technologies
• Strong understanding of Data Analytics and AWS Services. Specialization in Pharma Domain is preferred.
• Designed and established data delivery capability for a large enterprise data management that includes: data catalog, metadata management, master data management, data governance, platform and business solution/products, data quality services, data operations.
• A proven track record in managing high performing information technology global teams that are culturally diverse in matrix organizations.
• Excellent negotiation skills, Comfortable in matrix, Capability to think strategically
• Business fluent in English and Chinese (written and spoken)
