60 employees, 12 legal entities, 1 team. Join the FC&C team as Financial Controls & Compliance Manager!

The FC&C Manager interprets and administers policies, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant Novartis Financial Control Manual (NFCM) requirements according to the NFCM schedule, including internal and external regulations (e.g. SOX requirements) for own FSC organization and in accordance with the respective SLAs for Divisional Finance and other Functions for a defined area of responsibility. Supporting/implementing Global finance process improvement initiatives and sharing best practices.

Primary location is Nuremberg with the opportunity of flexible location within Germany

Your responsibilities:
• Support Global/Divisional processes transitions and knowledge transfer, monitoring critical deliverables.
• Proactively challenge the Status Quo, making fact-based recommendations. Ensure compliance with the NFCM.
• Liaison with stakeholders, including CFOs, Internal and External Audit and Corporate Financial Controls (CFC), Control Owners and Divisional Finance.
• Responsible for supporting and monitoring implementation and progress of NFCM according to the implementation of standard processes. Drive harmonization of processes and controls cross-divisionally. Ensure compliance with Global & local requirements.
• Raise awareness of key risks and risk response in the organization. Actively contribute to strengthen internal control environment within the organization.
• Prepare and support FCC reviews and Internal Audits. Provide training on compliance requirements to Controls Owners. Organize and manage Risk2Chance reporting (KonTraG).
• Actively support FCC working style by being inclusive, proactive, respectful, and results driven in alignment with Novartis Values and Behaviors
• Act service oriented to enable service lines to deliver a high-performing organization and drive improvement/standard solutions while cultivating customer service focus culture

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• University level degree in Business Administration/ Economics/Finance or Accounting
• Excellent English and German skills
• 3-4 years of relevant experience preferably in external audit
• Open mindset and ability to communicate with various stakeholders
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications, SAP knowledge would be advantageous
