The Business Partner (BP) champions the People & Organization (P&O) agenda by advising, coaching, and influencing leadership teams to help implement the mid and long-term business strategy at regional and global level.

As a strategic business advisor and coach, the BP applies consulting & coaching skills with data driven and external market insights to deliver an organizational aligned workforce strategy with talent interventions that span diversity & inclusion, talent management, org design and effectiveness, culture, transformation, and change.

This includes the following areas:

P&O Partnering:
Translate strategy and functional plans to design, and implement P&O interventions that enable the business agenda while applying data driven and external insights with P&O metrics; enhance leadership capabilities through coaching and drive leadership teams to set up a solid governance structure, operating models and culture to enable and fulfil strategic business objectives; advise business leaders and teams on strategic and operational execution, including team effectiveness, change management, organizational design, performance management, talent, retention and engagement; utilize consulting skills to influence, coach and provide feedback to leaders.

Talent Management:
Develop talent and leadership development strategy and plan; drive the talent agenda in partnership with the business, establishing quality succession planning for critical positions and business value roles, development plans of key talent and talent strategy to build the leadership pipeline; identify required critical capabilities for the future and establish plans to meet capability gaps at the organization and individual level.

Organizational Development:
Develop an organizational design / plan for client groups by utilizing organizational diagnostics; hold the knowledge and outlook for the 3-5 year business plans; establish strategic workforce plans with leaders and develop organization design efficiencies to enable the long-term business strategy.

Data Analytics:
Have knowledge of P&O systems. Ability and interest to leverage data & analytics for business insights to inform decisions. Working closely with partner community to share identified insights and trends.

Provide coaching, feedback, learning opportunities and mentoring to support and enable P&O team members in their development.

Project & Initiatives:
Contribute actively to the P&O community and network; actively participate in complex, enterprise P&O projects or initiatives; ensure business representation and alignment.

Minimum Requirements

Role to be based in CAM, MA.

What you'll bring to the role:

- Bachelor’s degree is required. Subject area in Human Resources or related is preferred

- Advanced degree preferred

- 10+ years P&O or related experience; prior experience working within healthcare or pharmaceutical environment is preferred

- Broad expertise across P&O specialty areas i.e. Rewards, TODI, People Analytics, Business Partnering, etc. Confirmed experience in leading and facilitating TM, OD and Change Management projects

- Strong change management, project management, and presentation skills

- High intrinsic motivation to drive new Novartis People Strategy

- Experience leading cross-disciplinary matrixed P&O and client teams

- Expertise establishing effective and collaborative relationships at all levels

- Strong people leadership skills and experience, including coaching and mentoring skills

- Demonstrable track record of problem-solving, dealing with ambiguity, and effective influencing skills

- Strong people analytics skills, effectiveness with data/metrics/reporting to inform decision making

- Innovative, purpose-driven, and displays a strong and consistent sense of urgency

- Sensitive to others and the value of the team, takes a non-hierarchical approach to all peers and their work

- Excellent business and written communications skills

- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, complex, matrixed, global environment
