Job Description

The Head Ethics, Risk & Compliance is primarily responsible within a particular unit for developing, overseeing, implementing, maintaining and communicating an effective and efficient Ethics, Risk & Compliance program with all necessary standards, processes and procedures in alignment with the country, region, cluster, division and global strategy. As a trusted business partner, the Head ERC ensures that the unit is effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations.

The Head ERC ensures the Sandoz UK Organization has the right organization structure, talent and people skills in place to facilitate highest standards of ethics, risk and compliance in the respective organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

•The Head of Ethics Risk & Compliance is responsible for ensuring strong representation for the ERC Function within the Sandoz Leadership Team
•Provide complex, contextual advice in order to influence actions regarding local business-owned implementation of Global ERC Policies and Guidelines, drive simplification on local SOPs and processes development, and drive innovation across the country ERC program
•As a member of the Sandoz UK Leadership Team, persuade and engage the leaders to continually monitor effectiveness of ERC programs, including cultural drivers of ethical decisions and integrity for continuous improvement
•Serve as a thought leader and key spokesperson in business development and continuity, internally and externally, and lead efforts to capture and share innovations, best practices and lessons learned.
•Help shape local culture of Ethics and Compliance with a focus on speak-up culture, championing speak-up culture and transparency themselves
•Build a highly skilled ERC function within the unit, focusing on building functional competencies and business partnering, while demonstrating our values & behaviors and cultural aspiration.
•Lead, in collaboration with the rest of Division/Leadership team, the compliance program / risk management process, identify, and manage risks in manner that drives the business forward to best serve customers and patients
•Sponsor and oversee disclosure processes and ensure implementation of the Sandoz position and guidelines
•Sign-off according to transparency processes and accountable for publication of reports
•Help in investigations conducted by Global Security and other appropriate units on ethics and compliance issues received on the various intake sources and follows up to ensure appropriate action for resolution of issues and systems improvements, and agile reporting to internal and external stakeholders

Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:

•Extensive experience in an ERC or similar role
•Experience in pharmaceutical, device or healthcare industries with relevant exposure to compliance and risk function or related components
•Experience in a highly regulated industry with its dynamics, regulatory framework
•Experience of being a member of senior leadership team and leading the ERC function is preferred
•Proven ability to lead complex projects and collaborate within and across cross- functional teams and business units, in a matrixed environment
•Crisis management
•Knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations as well as an effective compliance program
•Compliance Certification status a plus
•Strong collaborator, networking and relationship management
•Strategic mindset, excellent judgment at a complex organizational level, and proactive and dynamic style that fosters informed decision making, particularly on challenging, complex and difficult issues
•Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and activities in a calm, resilient and professional manner, and able to manage ethical, legal and investigative matters with discretion and the utmost care of the individuals and organization involved
