As the NLP Text Mining Manager, you will be responsible to work within the data platform team to understand and predict the customer journeys. By joining our team, you will strengthen a company whose mission matters more than ever. Your models will ensure our customer’s experience are always at the most optimal levels. You will work on machine learning techniques, neural networks, to train and deploy models on NLP Platforms across data that spans from emails, social, paid media, and many other digital/sales channels. Our systems are built on top of Amazon's AWS and employ cutting edge technologies.

This opportunity is located at the Novartis East Hanover site, and will not have the ability to be located remotely.

The impact you'll make:
• End to end ownership of machine learning pipeline; starting from exploratory data analysis, model training, to model serving.
• Serve various natural language processing models across multiple business unit needs.
• Increases product adoption for our core product through releasing new feature.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Build pipelines to train and test algorithms to provide real-time recommendations
• Build ranking and classification APIs to support products at scale
• Generalize and extend our contextual capabilities
• Scale and extend feature pipeline and feature store systems
• Help deploy multiple models for optimizing revenue growth
• Manage cross functional dependencies, risks, and changes effectively by optimizing scope, schedule, and resources accordingly.
• Develop and own communication plans to effectively and proactively communicate program status, issues, and risks to stakeholders.
• Partner with cross functional teams to drive technical analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

Bachelor's Degree is required in business, science, engineering or related discipline / relevant area, advanced degree preferred

Minimum 5 years of experience working with digital data preferably in the pharmaceutical industry

Experience with the following technologies and frameworks: AWS Cloud, DataBricks, DataIku, Snowflake, Graph Databases (Property/Labeled/Knowledge), AWS Comprehend/Textract

Strong Development skills in Python, Flask, Spark, Scala, and PySpark

Solid background in statistical learning techniques for NLP (HMMs, TF-IDF, CRFs, SVMs, LDA, LSI, MRFs, HuggingFace's Transformers, NLTK, gensim, etc.)

NLP specialization (NLU, NLI, QA, BERT, spaCy, GPT, T5, XLNet, etc.)

Experience working with large datasets and the ability to build NLP models at scale

Experience in one or more of the following areas: entity/relation extraction, information ex-traction, summarisation, semantics, document classification, ontology, question answering, topic and intent modeling

Proven ability to take high-level product requirements and distill them into technical solu-tions

Experience mentoring other software engineers through design sessions and code reviews

Experience with building real-world machine learning applications (NLP, recommendation systems, bandits, etc)

Structuring code to make it modular and deployable (logging and metrics, adhering to com-mon deployment interfaces/hooks/dev guidelines)

Ability to follow papers/theory and adapt associated models

MLOps and cloud environment (resource configuration, optimization)

Data engineering (large scale data processing in batch or stream)

Experience in distributed computing frameworks and paradigms
