Position Summary
Drive the development and implementation of the value proposition of Novartis oncology products from early phase to commercialization, taking into account patients, health care providers, payers, and policy makers’ needs, to support optimal product access and reimbursement in the US
Job responsibilities include supporting VP, US HEOR in the following departmental activities:
• Lead and ensure solid tumor or hematology/CAR-T team’s successful engagement in the development of cross-functional value strategies, value generation & value communication plans creating relevant clinical, humanistic, real world, and economic evidence ensuring appropriate data is delivered and properly interpreted by patients, health care providers, payers, and policy makers in the US.
• Lead, develop and ensure the execution of the US Oncology Medical HEOR strategies and activities to demonstrate the value of Novartis Oncology products in solid tumor or hematology/CAR-T for the U.S. market in preparation for launch, during launch and throughout the products’ lifecycles in collaboration with medical and product teams.
• Establish and maintain cross-functional collaborative relationships & strategic alignment with internal partners in the Oncology Business Unit including US clinical, US Oncology Field Medical (OFM), Value & Access (V&A), US brand teams, launch management teams, US Legal/Compliance, Global Value & Access (GVA), RWE COE, and others as appropriate to identify, integrate and align HEOR strategies and manage team to execute tactics to support Novartis Oncology products in solid tumor or hematology/CAR-T.
• Lead and manage the HEOR solid tumor or hematology/CAR-T teams in the development and execution of US Oncology Medical HEOR value strategies: defining research approaches and methods to generate value evidence and outputs, and effectively communicate HEOR data to meet customer’s diverse information needs.
• Lead the strategy for, development of, submissions to, and interactions with payer groups, key institutions, regulatory authorities, the HEOR scientific community, technology companies and industry, maintaining expert knowledge of industry and policy trends that may impact US patient access and reimbursement for Novartis Oncology solid tumor or hematology/CAR-T products.
• Ensure for the solid tumor or hematology/CAR-T franchise; Use of HEOR strategy ensuring robustness of Product Value Propositions and US product access and reimbursement as applicable. Quality of the integrated value strategies, evidence generation and communications plans. Timeliness and availability of relevant data to right US customers to secure optimal access.
• Ensure solid tumor or hematology/CAR-T team meet business financial needs by spending on target.
• Lead development of strategies and tactics to support department initiatives and operational needs.

Minimum Requirements

Position Requirements
• Doctoral degree (PhD or PharmD, or MD) in related field and experience conducting HEOR research (Related fields include Health Services Research, Health Economics/Economics, Health Outcomes, Reimbursement and access) Preferred
• 10+ years of demonstrated ability conducting pharmacoeconomic, health policy, health program evaluation or health services research (Preferred). At least 5 years industry-related experience in outcomes research subject area
• At least 5 years people management experience (preferred)
• Experience in design of clinical studies with HEOR endpoints
• Experience in analysis of US claims databases and/or EHR/EMR
• Experience in economic model development to assess the value of medical products
